I discovered beads in 1994 and at once became passionate about what I could create with them. I particularly enjoy combining colors and shapes that enhance my centerpieces or the project itself, and revel in seeing my final creation enhance the wearer. I use several beading techniques when creating my pieces and strive for designs that have a simple, elegant beauty.
I began selling my pieces to friends, who then encouraged me to showcase my jewelry at fanfare exhibits and art festivals. My first year participating in such an event was 2004 where I showed my jewelry at the Lodi Arts Walk Festival and the San Ramon Arts & Wine Festival. In 2005 I displayed my jewelry at the Walnut Creek, Novato and Lafayette Art & Wine Festivals. This year I hope to exhibit my jewelry at these same festivals, plus add several other shows throughout Northern California.
My husband retired a few years ago and now we stay in California for the summer months and winter in Arizona so that we can avoid the rains. This has enabled me to shop for natural stones and beads while in Arizona as well and learning new techniques that I can incorporate into my designs.
